The TU-2 "Bat" originated in a 1938 requirement for a fast bomber able to
carry all of its weapons internally and drop them in either level flight,
or a dive. Originally designated Samolet-103, or ANT-58 by Tupolev's
desing bureau, it was a twin-engine all metal cantilever monoplane.
The Tu-2S, the defifnitive version of the Tu-2, carried a crew of four:
   pilot, navigator/nose gunner/bombardier, and upper/lower gunners. In
addition to the three 12.7mm UDT mgs in the gunner positions, it also
carried a pair of forward firing ShVAK 20mm cannons in the wing roots.
Normal bomb load was 1000kg (2200 lbs) in the bomb bay; twice that could be
carried externally on the wing racks.
      The Tu-2Sh was a developmental version, with a 57mm RshR anti-tank
   gun in an unglazed nose.

These aircraft are both based on Greg "Sturmer"Smith's Pe-2 divebomber,
and are pretty much interchangable with that plane. The ID for the weapons
may not match exactly with the ones mentioned in the text, but the effects
are accurate. If you have any questions or comments, contact me via Prodigy.
