By 1943, it had become standard
British practice to precede major
raids with intruder missions de-
signed to disrupt German night
fighter operations. Night fighters
forced to combat British intruders
would be short on fuel and ammuni-
tion once the bombers came. Better
yet, a heavily armed Beaufighter
or Mosquito was able to inflict
substantial damage on the night
fighter airfields themselves. The
best place to catch a night fighter,
is, after all, on the ground. The 
next best place is while he's taking
off.......

picked up a possible incoming enemy
raid. Take off and begin your patrol.
