Gunnery Practice

The Beaufighter has been des-
cribed as a snub-nosed battleship;
tough in construction, deadly
with its battery of cannon. This
training flight pits the Beau
against its most common enemies
during its heyday: the Bf110 and
the Do217.
The Bf110G-4 was an adaptation of
the unsuccessful day fighter. It
possessed poor performance, par-
ticularly in speed, but had sig-
nificant firepower. The Do217 J and
N-series were adaptations of the
Do217 medium bomber. These aircraft
were slow and ungainly, their only
good qualities being endurance,
ammo capacity, and (in the J-2)
some defensive weapons for the
rear quarter.
ORDERS: You are on a flight above
the Channel. You will be attacked
by waves of Bf110G-4s and Do217N-2s.
Practice shooting them down and
evading their attacks. Your plane
cannot be damaged and you have un-
limited ammo.
NOTE: You may choose to insert the
Do217J2 into the Bf109G6 slot to
replace the Do217N-2......
